Time: 5-10 hours per week

Location: Remote, flexible within the U.S.


Overview

The Social Media Coordinator spearheads our social media efforts by working with the Executive Director and Communications Coordinator to set organizational strategy and then executes said strategy on a weekly basis. We’re looking for someone who can craft the perfect tweet and the graphic to match, and who can also take the time to engage with our network by reblogging, retweeting, and commenting on posts. You will be in charge of setting the tone for ESW’s social media and will be responsible for meeting ESW’s strategic plan goals related to social media.


About Engineers for a Sustainable World

Engineers for a Sustainable World is a nonprofit network made up of people passionate about technical sustainability. We consist of 1,500 student and professional members across 50 chapters at colleges and universities. We work to empower engineers to tackle the biggest sustainability challenges of the 21st century. ESW members have created everything from solar charging stations on college campuses to devices that collect waste in rivers to community-designed structures that promote earthquake resilience.


Responsibilities include:

Seeking out and interacting with related organizations, nonprofits, and thought leaders in the sustainability, design, and engineering fields.

Creating ESW-related content to post across all our social media networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

Posting content that other ESW Leadership Team members request (for example, promoting our programs, grants, and deadlines)

Building online community by interacting with ESW members and other followers

Attending weekly Communications and Technology meetings 


Desired skills and qualifications:

Experience using various forms of social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

An eye oforf design and experience either using Canva or creating your own graphics

Excellent communication and writing skills

Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
