Description

Join the Afterschool Alliance and the Tennessee Afterschool Network on their mission to provide all children, including young men of color, with access to high quality mentoring and college readiness afterschool programs. The initiative plans to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and to ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.


The VISTA will support this initiative through responsibilities including:

  • Partnering with local afterschool network leaders to identify and map available afterschool programs and resources
  • Research and share the best practices in afterschool programming for increasing literacy rates for young men of color
  • Recruit and manage a Tennessee Afterschool Network Collaboration Committee
