At Lifelong our mission is to “…empower people living with or at risk of HIV and/or other chronic conditions to live healthier lives.” Lifelong has robust client management and support programs for housing, medical, wellness, dental, aging and disability client + sexual health education and prevention for both adults and youth.

Lifelong's Development Department focuses on fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, events planning, marketing, communication and social media and works closely with Lifelong staff across all programs. Each year the Development Department plans and manages several major fundraising events, among them; Gay Bingo, Dining Out For Life, Summer Supper and the Seattle AIDS Walk.

The Events Auction Assistant Volunteer will work with program staff in the Development Department on in-kind donation procurement; soliciting and securing a range of auction items for Lifelong’s major fundraising events. In their role, the volunteer will be in contact with a wide variety of past, current and potential community partner donors over the phone, through email and in person. Utilizing basic principles of donor relationship building and appreciation in their role and responsibilities is a key component of the volunteer role (training provided.)

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain or expand on events planning, in kind donation procurement and donor management skills. The ideal volunteer will have good relationship and rapport building skills as well as the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a integrated team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contact and provide auction item procurement packets and information by email to potential vendors and sponsors.
  • Document and track procurement process, progress and outcomes.
  • Assist in creation, updating and management of auction communication and marketing materials.
