NARAL Pro-Choice Washington Board Opportunity!

Are you interested in doing more than participating in marches, contacting legislators, and donating to progressive causes that protect women’s rights? Join the board of NARAL Pro-Choice Washington to make a real difference in the lives of womxn and families in Washington State!

We are now accepting applications for volunteer board members from all four corners of the state who are passionate about reproductive freedom and recognize that every person should be able to make personal decisions about – and have access to – the full range of reproductive health options.

NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and creating a movement in which every individual is welcomed and valued. We want our board to reflect the diversity of our state including across race, income, immigrant status and gender identity. And we are seeking new members with experience and interest in:

●    Finance and Accounting

●    Political Campaigns

●    Fundraising

As the leading grassroots pro-choice advocacy organization in the state, we are at the front lines of advocacy work, public awareness, and voter outreach. We aim to protect every woman’s fundamental right to access all reproductive health options, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion. NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is the state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

We are looking for people who can:

●    Participate in Board meetings every other month

●    Actively serve on one of our committees: Board Governance & Engagement, Fundraising & Events, Finance, or Political Action Committee

●    Advocate for the reproductive health needs of people throughout Washington State

●    Be always curious to learn more about reproductive freedom

●    Make a contribution to the organization that is a stretch, personally significant and meaningful

Time commitment typically ranges from 5-8 hours per month depending on committee work.

About us

NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is the leading grassroots pro-choice advocacy organization in Washington State, and we believe that every woman should be able to make personal decisions about the full range of reproductive health options. Our organization works to protect every woman’s right to access the full range of reproductive health options, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and choosing legal abortion.

We are 100% supporter funded, making us uniquely positioned as the “left flank” of the pro-choice movement. We take strong political positions and use our power to lift up true pro-choice champion lawmakers and challenge our opposition. We represent our members and organize them to demand that reproductive freedom is a priority for their elected officials.

How we do it

We achieve our goals through grassroots mobilization, legislative advocacy, public education, endorsing pro-choice candidates, and supporting their electoral campaigns.
