Volunteer will work from the Lucas Artists Program offices in the stunning 176-acre Montalvo Arts Center park in Saratoga, California.
PARAMETERS OF POSITION
The Lucas Artists Program (LAP) at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California, seeks a Podcast Volunteer to help us create podcasts of our public programs. These podcasts will be part of our media efforts to provide a window into the remarkable work of international artist residents at Montalvo. An integral part of this effort is our Open Access blog: http://blog.montalvoarts.org. Volunteer will help shape content for podcasts drawn from studio visits, curated public programs, art on the grounds, literary readings, public art commissions, and the work of the over 100 national and international artists who live and work in the 11 free-standing studios at Montalvo each year.
A successful applicant will have an interest in and skills relating to journalism/broadcasting, video, digital media and social media (see below). Volunteer will work closely with both our curatorial and marketing departments. Under the guidance of the curatorial and marketing team, volunteer will plan, produce and be responsible for the production process from development to delivery and post-production management.
We require a minimum 3-6-month commitment for this Volunteer position, and at least 10-15 hours per week. This is an unpaid Volunteer position. The position requires strong knowledge of podcast software, video encoding platforms, audio editing software, content management systems, and social media. Excellent critical thinking skills, great attention to detail, familiarity with InDesign and PhotoShop would be a plus. This is an opportunity to work with the curatorial team at an internationally-recognized artist residency program. We hope to find a talented individual who will work with our dedicated team as we support over 100 artists a year from all over the world.
