The English Learning Center is a program of Our Saviour's Community Services, a community-based nonprofit. We provide English (ESL), math, citizenship, computer and reading classes as well as advocacy to adult immigrants and refugees in the Phillips neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Currently the English Learning Center serves nearly 400 adult students each year. It has become a well-known community center for immigrants and refugees from all around the world. We are a volunteer-based organization: over 100 volunteers teach all the program classes. Our classes meet in the morning and evening. Morning English classes meet Monday-Thursdays, from 9:30-11:45am. AM Math class meets Wednesday and Thursday from 12-1pm. AM Computer Class meets Mondays from 12-1pm. AM Citizenship meets Wednesday from 12-1. PM English classes meet from 6:45-8:30pm. Citizenship, Math, Computer, and Reading Circle meets 5:30-6:30pm.

We are looking for Thursday Beginning - Intermediate Teachers.

Our morning English Classes run from 9:30-11:45am. Teachers typically arrive 30 minutes early to prepare for classes. Our classes are usually 5-10 students. Our school runs Monday-Thursday and teachers are asked to teach one day a week, either the morning or evening. We have all levels from Beginning-Advanced ESL.

We are looking for Teachers to teach our Monday or Tuesday morning Low, Intermediate or High Level ESL English classes. Come to the English Learning to teach English to approximately 8 students, who are Adult English Language Learners.

No prior teaching experience is necessary. We train our volunteers at our site and we also require volunteers to attend a 12-hour Minnesota Literacy Council within 90 days of volunteering. Some exceptions to this training apply. Background check for all volunteers is also part of application process.
