Description

BEING A VOLUNTEER AT CCF

Volunteers at CCF not only participate within our organisation as highly valued and respected members of our team, but also as a huge part of our development and growth framework. Working to build capacity, volunteer placements focus on sharing valuable knowledge and skills with CCF staff and students- either within a set position, project or via on-the-job training or workshops. Placements are extremely rewarding and allow volunteers a hands-on opportunity to help grow and develop the very core of our organisation. By working with CCF, volunteers assist in empowering our local staff and students to truly become, not only educated and accomplished professionals, but the future leaders of this country.

THE ROLE

Our Sponsorship team manages one of CCF’s main donation streams; over 1000 sponsors commit to monthly child sponsorships which go to fund CCF programs. Sponsors are able to communicate with their sponsored child through email and Skype, which is facilitated by our Sponsorship team in line with our Child Protection Policy.

In order to improve communication between sponsored children, sponsorship staff, and sponsors, CCF are recruiting for a volunteer who can advise on internal and external communication practices. The Sponsorship Team is largely made up of non-native English speakers, and while they have good English skills, there are often errors in written English communications that need to be double checked. This volunteer role will support the team in perfecting their English communications and aiming content at largely western supporters.

Activities can include:

  • Reviewing child biographies (content, tone, style) sent to potential sponsors
  • Liaising with CCF media team to manage external communications relating to sponsorships
  • Coaching sponsorship staff members on how to diversify content sponsored children want to send in email to sponsors
  • Liaising with the Media and Marketing team to feature Sponsor Stories on website and social media
  • Sitting as point of contact between sponsorships and media teams regarding content for newsletter sent to sponsors
  • Working closely with Sponsorship Program Manager on content and layout for newsletters
