AARP Experience Corps is a special intergenerational program which matches volunteers age 50+ with K-3rd grade children in our schools who need that special connection to thrive and become great readers.

Volunteers serve 4-10 hours per week during the school year. Stipends are available.

As an AARP Experience Corps Volunteer you will:

  • work one-on-one or in small groups with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade
  • tutor children in reading, and other academic areas
  • receive interesting and informative trainings
  • be able to participate in fun and educational opportunities throughout the school year
  • be part of a team of caring adults who share your interest in helping children

Opportunity Requirements:

  • Volunteers must be 50 years of age or older to participate in this opportunity.
  • Volunteers must be willing to commit to volunteering throughout the year (with some possible breaks)
  • Application and background check required.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required
