At Community Bikes, we're on a mission to break down barriers to biking. Here's a couple of ways you can help:

Skilled Mechanics

We need people who can transform a donated bike into a great ride for a beginner biker. To do this, we have Volunteer Wrench Nights every other Monday where we replace chains, seats, and more to bring bikes back to life. We also run Open Shop Hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, where people can bring their bikes in and learn how to fix a flat, put on new brake pads, or address most any problem their bike seems to be having.

Future Mechanics

If you're a handy person who is unfamiliar with bikes, we're happy to train you in the art of bike maintenance and repair. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty in the name of building community, this could be the perfect place for you to make a difference here in Cville.

Shop Helpers

Don't know what a derailleur is but still want to help us on our mission? Great! We can always use help around the shop organizing things and possibly even running our register. Friendly faces and helping hands go a long way in making the world a better place and we're happy to find ways for anyone to contribute.

Whether helping a client from The Haven or International Rescue Committee get on their first bike or teaching someone how to change a flat, we celebrate the ability of biking to empower people and encourage others to join us in our efforts. If you're interested in helping in one of the ways listed above, or would want to do something else for us- like lead a fundraiser, bike drive, or social event- we're excited to hear from you. Thanks for your interest in our work!

We welcome
