Description

Tutors and mentors are needed for our Science Explorers enrichment program!

Science Explorers is a learning program that introduces 9–11 year old students in grades 4 and 5 to the scientific method. With the support of volunteers who are mostly from local universities and biotech companies, students experiment with concepts such as engineering, biology, chemical reactions, simple machines, sound and more.

Science Explorers volunteer with the Elementary School program for one night a week for 1.5 hours at the Fletcher-Maynard Academy from October to December . We are looking for mentors who are looking to pass their knowledge down to a student and the next seed in the next generation of engineers. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with co-facilitating activities that are already prepared each week but we also welcome any input or experience that you would like to add to each night.
