Description

Cancer and Careers, a non-profit that helps cancer survivors thrive in the workplace, is hosting a National Conference on Work & Cancer on Friday, June 22. We expect 400 cancer patients, survivors, and healthcare professionals to attend this free event, and would love some extra sets of hands that day. The location is CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY (between 34th and 35th Streets.)

Typical volunteer responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and directing attendees
  • Handing out materials
  • Distributing goody bags
  • Collecting evaluation forms

There are three shifts to choose from:

  • 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM (early morning shift)
  • 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM (midday shift)
  • 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM (afternoon shift)

You are welcome to come before or stay after your shift to experience the conference.

Email lbennett@cew.org to apply.

Please email your preference for either the early morning, midday or afternoon shift, and feel free to include any previous volunteer or non-profit experience. Volunteers will receive a confirmation with their call-times. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-ups that day, so volunteers must apply in advance. Note that this is an unpaid position.
