Are you interested in becoming a mediator?

Take the mediation training with MetroWest Mediation Services and you can start to mediate in the courts and community.

MetroWest Mediation Services is a nonprofit community mediation agency that provides mediation as an early intervention method for resolving disputes, reducing violence and increasing the safety and wellbeing of MetroWest residents.

Our volunteer mediators provide free mediation services in the Framingham, Concord, Marlborough, and Natick District Courts for small claims, landlord-tenant and harassment prevention cases. In addition, the organization offers low-cost and no-cost community, workplace, family and divorce mediation services; as well as mediation training and conflict resolution workshops.

All volunteers need to complete mediation training that fulfills the MA court requirements. MWMS will hold a 35-hour basic mediation training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8, 10, 13, 15 and 17 at the Edwards House, 1 Badger Road, in Framingham.

Trainees who successfully complete the training can apply for the practicum, in which prospective mediators receive mentorship from an experienced mediator as they observe and co-mediate cases in District Court. Upon successful completion of the practicum, the mediators will be invited to join the MWMS volunteer mediator roster and mediate in court on a regular basis.

The fee for the course is $625 which includes instruction, course manual, and a certificate of completion. Snacks and a buffet lunch are provided for each day of the training.
