theDREAMlab, our makerspace at The Pittsburgh Project, needs support from volunteers with backgrounds or interest in making, arts, fiber, woodworking, electronics, and education. The volunteers will help facilitate the making activities with children ranging from k-8th grades and help maintain the makerspace, with opportunities to participate in lesson planning if interested.
Those with woodworking and electronics proficiency are particularly helpful; theDREAMlab has a strong fiber program and is looking to expand in other areas.
theDREAMlab has programming Monday-Thursdays from 3-6pm, personnel typically work from 2-6:30pm. Volunteers do not need to be available for the entire day's program, those with whole and partial afternoon availability are both encouraged to apply.
Relevant clearances are necessary to volunteer at The Pittsburgh Project. We are able to facilitate and pay for obtaining these clearances if a volunteer is able to commit to a minimum of one consistent day per week for one school semester.
