Volunteer Accountant

Responsibilities:

The Hummingbird Project is seeking a part-time Accountant to help file our IRS 990 as well as balancing our books and preparing a simple budget forecast.

This work can be done remotely, or it can be done in our office in the Cleveland area (we are happy to have you!). A commitment of about 6 hours per month should be more than ample to do this work, but if you are interested and able to contribute more, there is plenty to do.

Requirements: 

Excellent verbal communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Experience with QuickBooks is a great advantage.

Qualifications:           

CPA (Certified Public Accountant)  

Relevant CPA experience preferable

Relevant non-profit experience preferable but not mandatory

Positive attitude, eager to learn and grow with the organization

Demonstrated interest in ecological sustainability and food justice issues are a plus.
