VISTA VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AROUND

NORTHERN NEW MEXICO


           Economic development, workforce development, and food security agencies across Northern New Mexico are seeking VISTA Volunteers interested in advancing the following locally-driven community improvement initiatives. 

           

·      Las Vegas San Miguel Economic Development Corporation (Las Vegas) VISTA Volunteer will gather information, prepare studies, reports, and plans, and work with community members to implement economic and community development projects they select.

·        New Mexico Cares VISTA Volunteer (Santa Fe) will staff an End Hunger NM Summit work with hunger action groups working on Data and Resources, Intergenerational Programs, Transportation, and School Outreach

·        Espanola Valley Chamber of Commerce (Espanola) VISTA Volunteer will design, establish, and grow a Junior Chamber of Commerce program

·        Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area (Espanola) VISTA Volunteer will help build economic development capacity in rural, economically distressed communities along the Rio Grande Trail.

·        Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board (Santa Fe) VISTA Volunteer will coordinate regional micro-summits leading to new partnerships among government, corporate, and nonprofit agencies across Northern New Mexico

·        New Mexico TechWorks (Santa Fe) VISTA Volunteer will help improve the quality of life for Northern New Mexicans by developing a tech-savvy citizens, employees, and entrepreneurs.


           AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers work on impactful projects that lift people out of poverty while receiving comprehensive training and support, including a living allowance, skills-building, federal noncompetitive hiring eligibility, health benefit, and the Eli Segal Education Award or a cash stipend at the end of a year of service.
