Description

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers is a 124-year old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services which significantly improve the lives of 15,000 people in need each year on the East Side of Manhattan. Our English as a Second Language program provides high quality, interactive instruction to a diverse student body. We seek to increase students' confidence in speaking, written language skills and comprehension of English. We are seeking an instructor to teach one class of adult students on Fridays, 9:30am-12:00pm from April 13 - June 15. Training and supervision are provided but volunteers will need to prepare weekly lesson plans for their class and write brief summaries of student progress.
