Position Details & Responsibilities

The Community Outreach Fellow is responsible for the day-to-day performance of an authentic grassroots campaign. Someone interested in this role should possess an intense fascination with the world of criminal justice and a drive to alter the status quo. The Fellow will support the Campaign’s Field and Outreach operations by engaging in community activism and discussing criminal justice issues with the local Baltimore community. The intended impact of doing so is 1) understanding what issues are ailing Baltimore and its residents and 2) familiarizing the community with Thiru.

 

The fellowship also includes a mandatory training program on the criminal justice policy of the campaign with the goal of providing the Fellow with enough of a knowledge base to debate the pertinent topics at a moment’s notice.


Qualifications

Ø Strong communication skills

Ø Comfort in social situations

Ø Willingness to commit at least 20 hours/week, preferred commitment of 40 hours/week

Ø Preference to candidates that possess a mode of transportation

The ideal candidate for this role should to be charismatic, passionate about criminal justice policy, and have a professional demeanor.
