The Friends of the Cambridge Public Library is a nonprofit volunteer-driven community membership organization open to all individuals and families who wish to participate in the ongoing celebration and support of the Cambridge Public Library (CPL), its six neighborhood branches located throughout the City of Cambridge, and the diverse population that it serves. We don't ask for donations but rather memberships of any amount that are used to support CPL activities at the discretion of the Library Director, such as Summer Reading Programs, funds for the new STEAM project, museum passes, 3D technology, a laptop kiosk, a free family summer concert, speakers, and others.
The Friends is managed by an active, all-volunteer Board of Directors that values diversity representative of the community it serves. Our biggest fundraiser/community event is the biennial Secret Garden Tour which was postponed from June 2020 to June 2021 due to COVID. We also run a membership drive each fall/winter.
The Board seeks an experienced fundraising consultant to advise on and help to execute 2020 fall/winter fundraising activities.
To apply, please send an email telling us about yourself, your experience, and your interest in working with the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library to firstname.lastname@example.org. Resume optional.
Position open until filled.
