Looking to make a difference and save lives?

CCSI is seeking candidates for our next volunteer training opportunity, beginning February 2018. Volunteer candidates must complete 40 hrs of training as well as a criminal and child protective services background check.

Please join us as a Volunteer Hotline Specialist! CCSI offers 24/7/365 critical social safety net supports to those in crisis and need in Prince George's County, our state and across our nation. People call us seeking services, guidance and compassion and we are here to help them through their immediate crisis.

We are seeking hotline volunteers who care and are committed to meeting the needs of callers in crisis.

Volunteers will be trained to:

  • assess service needs by applying active listening skills;
  • utilize agency resources to match callers with needed services and information;
  • recognize and respond appropriately to persons in crisis – including callers with thoughts of suicide;
  • document call reports with an eye to detail and accuracy of information entry – utilizing a computer entry system to record each contact with clients.

Volunteers should have excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and reliable transportation.
