Level Up Your Impact - High School Student Leaders Needed
- Volunteer Opportunity posted by Students for High Impact Charity
A few hours per month
Students for High-Impact Charity is about exploring the most important questions facing humanity and figuring out the very best way to solve some of the world’s biggest problems (shicschools.org). SHIC is a program that any student can run.
Here’s a 2-minute introduction video to SHIC so you can get a small idea of what’s in store.
The program covers everything from world poverty and animal welfare, to the environment, to catastrophic risks like nuclear war and artificial intelligence. SHIC is about leveling up your impact to do the most good possible.
We’ve created the material. We’re just looking for motivated student leaders to present it to your peers. We have 6 levels for you to try out in our introductory program, and more levels in the advanced program if you want to delve deeper.
Role: 'What will be asked of me?’
Basically, becoming a student leader means running the SHIC program by:
Getting a small group of friends together to start piloting and learning about the program.
And, when you are ready to scale up:
Starting a club or student group at your high school or university, or
Using the SHIC program in an existing club or class
Being a student leader requires a commitment of 2-3 hours each week and the leadership skills to run small events. It can be challenging, so it’s not for everyone. But if you’re up for the challenge, we’ll be with you every step of the way. We’ll be in touch as often as you request and we are happy to help out whenever you need it.
Benefits: 'What’s in it for me?’
