We are very excited to announce that the Let's Paint! program run by Capital City Education Alliance (CCEA) will be returning to Burns Latino Studies Academy Middle School this coming fall!
Last year, with the help of volunteers, students transformed the entire basement level as well as the administrative offices. In addition, students learned valuable workforce readiness skills and demonstrated improvement in various skills such as leadership, teamwork, and time-management.
This fall we hope to continue the amazing progress and we would love to have you join us along for the ride!
Let's Paint! teaches workforce readiness skills through the art of commercial painting. Our volunteers join us on select Saturdays to help our students work on their professionalism - how to effectively meet/greet, carry on a conversation with someone they just met, confidently share information about themselves, and learn about their volunteer - just like you might do in a job interview. At the same time, you have fun painting side-by-side with a student and learning about him/her.
Join the students at Burns Latino for a fun day of painting the school's halls and walls. It's a fun way to start off your weekend. Sign up by following the link below!
