If you have an interest in animal welfare, please consider volunteering your time with us.We are the first NGO in Cameroon to start providing shelter for stray animals. Our passionate and dedicated staff and volunteers care for animals on the streets. Our mission is to end homelessness for animals in Cameroon through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, community outreach and education.
The greatness of a nation and its moral progress, said Mahatma Gandhi, can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”To educate our people, and especially our children, to humane attitudes and actions towards living things is to preserve and strengthen our nation heritage and the moral values we champion in the world...”John F Kennedy. As a volunteer you will make a difference against the odds by hitting the potholes that millions of unwanted animals are going through in Cameroon. However we have realised the huge amount of abuse, neglect and abandonment of pets throughout our country and to our greatest surprised and shocked, no body has step on to wipe out the tears of the unheard voices.Statistic in Cameroon shows that less than 2% of pets are in loving homes. While more than 90% are stray pets and eat from garbage dumps which are unhealthy.
Feeding: Volunteers drives the streets in our communities every day to monitor the condition of homeless animals as we provide them with food. We also provide food to low income dog animal owners.
Rescue: Volunteers responds to animal welfare issues that are identified by our volunteer feeders or from calls within the community. We follow up on those situations by either educating the owners in question or by rescuing the animal, when we have the resources available.
Foster Homes: Volunteers has a vetted process that allows us to train, temporarily house, feed, medicate, and rehabilitate homeless dogs. This process gives us an opportunity to find our foster animals the appropriate forever/adoptive home.
Veterinarian Care:Volunteers has negotiated reduced cost care from skilled and dedicated veterinarians willing to discount their services to help stray animals.
Community Outreach:Volunteers provides several free services and assistance to the residents in our community including free spay/neuter clinics for qualified individuals, microchip events, vaccination events, dog house donations and food distributions.
Education:Volunteers are dedicated to educating the residents in our community about the importance of animal care, including a commitment to spay or neuter their animals. We believe education is the key to reducing the homeless animal problem in our community so we plan to continually evolve this component of our organization.
