Grant and Sales Coordinator

We have an exciting new opportunity at Grants Plus! We are seeking a Grant and Sales Coordinator to assist in our engagement efforts with nonprofit leaders to become Grants Plus clients, with a focus on organizations in need of government grant writing services. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a combination of fundraising knowledge, grant writing experience, and an inclination and ability in communication and sales.

Description of the role

As a member of the Advancement Department, you will support and work closely with the Managing Director of Advancement and other members of the team. You will have independent responsibility for communicating directly with nonprofit leaders, assessing grant writing opportunities, and guiding sales interactions that result in positive new partnerships between Grants Plus and the nonprofits who depend upon our services.

Experience we desire:

Our team members come to Grants Plus with varied backgrounds, but share a common commitment to the nonprofit and philanthropic sector, to one another, and to our firm’s success. We seek candidates who have the following experience and attributes:

A way with words in verbal and written communication, with an ability to warmly, clearly, and concisely express what is most important.

Evidence of success in leading 1:1 interactions that result in decision and action, whether as a major gifts fundraiser persuading donors to give, or as a sales professional guiding decision makers in the sales process.

Experience with grant writing and strong knowledge of federal and other government grants, which may include, reviewing RFPs, preparing grant applications, and researching government grant opportunities.

A drive to meet goals and drive results.

Confidence composing documents and proposals that are attractive, clear, and compelling.

Experience managing relationships with clients or donors and building trust in those interactions.

Adeptness at using tools and technology and a knack (and zest) for manipulating and interpreting data.

A proactive, can-do, let's-get-things-done attitude. You excel in a fast-paced environment with lots of moving pieces and parts. You don't shy away from holding colleagues accountable when you need to! And you put a high priority on seeing deadlines through. You thrive on hard work, are driven to achieve, and seek to smile and have fun in the process.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in major gifts fundraising or sales (or a similar environment that involves relationship management and communication with donors and/or clients).
  • Demonstrated experience in federal (or other government) grant writing and/or research.
  • Experience using technology tools and software; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • An eagerness to positively contribute to our company culture and values, including to our commitment to being an anti-racist firm that strives towards building and maintaining greater diversity, equity, and inclusion within Grants Plus, the grant seeking and fundraising profession, and the nonprofit consulting sector.

Reports to: Managing Director of Advancement

Location: The Engagement Coordinator will join a remote work environment, working from anywhere in the U.S. When travel can be safely resumed, occasional travel may be required to the firm's main office in Cleveland, Ohio and elsewhere.

Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position. Compensation includes generous benefits (health insurance, paid time off and company holidays, Simple IRA plan, and bonuses based on individual and company performance). Salary will be based on experience; the salary band for this role is between $45,000 to $60,000.
