    Scout is seeking a contract Junior Chief of Staff. This is an independent contractor opportunity requiring approximately up to 20 hours a week. This position is remote and will require the ability to be accessible and responsive during EST time zone.

    The Junior Chief of Staff will partner closely with the Principal + Founder to maintain and reimagine, as needed, processes, workflows, and operations of the firm.

    Additionally, the Junior Chief of Staff will bring their proven human resources experiences to conduct extensive research, surface and build out innovative ideas, provide high level executive administrative support, and be a thought partner to the Principal on a diverse range of HR subject matter.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner closely with Principal to maintain and/or reimagine practices, policies, programs, processes, workflows, and operations of the firm.
    • Conduct research on a variety of HR subject matter areas and produce supporting quantitative and qualitative summaries.
    • Provide thought partnership to the Principal on projects and operations.
    • Provide high level executive administrative support.
    • Collaborate on special initiatives, as needed.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 3+ years of any or a mix of these experiences: executive assistant, project management, and/or operations within a professional, fast-paced, and responsive environment.
    • 3+ years of deep research experience: skilled at researching complex or broad topics to distill key information and is able to effectively package and present findings in a way that informs and engages the reader.
    • 2+ years experience working in/on Human Resources areas and/or subject matter.
    • 2+ years experience working in a freelance, consulting, or independent contractor capacity.
    • 1+ years experience working within non-profit, mission, and/or purpose driven environments.
    • Exercises a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, professionalism, integrity, diplomacy, and ethics.
    • High level of attention to detail and follow-through; thrives on upholding and delivering excellent results

      • Research: quickly grasps the objective of the task to effectively mine for information from various sources to synthesize and present in a visually cogent and effective manner; ensures accuracy and that sources are legitimate.
    • Ability to attend in-person meetings to work on projects with the Principal (New York City).
    • Experience working within a fast-paced, agile environment among a diverse group of people.
    • Experience working in environments with a commitment to inclusion and is mission driven.
    • Availability during core working hours (10:00 am to 4:00 pm EST) in order to quickly respond to client needs.
    • Strong technology skills and with an aptitude to innovate and leverage technology to improve, evolve, and/or reimagine workflows, processes, and/or systems.

    The rate for this opportunity is $40.00 an hour.
