Abundance Strategies Internship

Abundance Strategies’ is seeking an intern to support our dynamic firm and clients. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of fundraising for a range of progressive nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and political groups.

For more than a decade, Abundance Strategies has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients focused on climate change, democracy, economic policy, reproductive justice, community economic development, healthcare justice, and more.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are looking to gain critical, career building, skills including research, writing, data management, and more. The Abundance Strategies team prioritizes learning, excellence, and fun.  

Intern will:

• Conduct research on funding opportunities including individuals, corporations, and foundations
• Support Abundance team members with client engagements including, prospect research, drafting communications, producing decks, and other tasks
• Learn and practice essential skills including project management, managing up, effective communication, and database management
• Complete other administrative and operational tasks
• Attend meetings with team to review weekly workload, research results, and other topics 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired

• An interest in working in the progressive nonprofit, advocacy, or political sector
• Proactive attitude and a thirst for learning
• Knowledge of microsoft/google products including Excel, Word, and design platforms like Canva
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently but collaboratively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Detail-oriented and dependable

Applicant Availability

The internship will run for a full semester, from September through early December 2024 but could be extended. Students must be based in Washington D.C. This is a hybrid, part-time opportunity where interns for a minimum of 15 hours/week with most hours in-person at the Abundance Strategies downtown DC office. Internship start and end dates will be determined on a case-by-case basis with the selected applicant. 

Compensation

Intern will be compensated at $19/hour.
