    Senior Accountant – Finance & Accounting Team – Global Impact 

    About You 

    As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating accounting duties for multiple departments across multiple entities; Global Impact (nonprofit 501c3), Geneva Global (for profit), Capital for Good (nonprofit 501c3), Global Impact Social Welfare Fund (nonprofit 501c4). 

    You are adept at revenue recognition, reconciling balance sheets statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end closing schedules. Ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in accounting tasks is part of your skill set. Having a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, analyzing financial reports and forecasts, and experience collaborating with a team of accountants and non-accountants are skills you thrive on! 

    Major Responsibilities 

    • Monitor contracts and services agreements for correct pricing/information and document under the correct revenue recognition ASC 606. 
    • Generate client invoices with the ability to verify discrepancies and resolve client billing issues. 
    • Maintain fiscal year revenue trackers and related monthly financial schedules. 
    • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts receivable and assigned balanced sheet schedules. 
    • Prepare monthly revenue projections and 6 months cash flow. 
    • Support month-end and year-end close process and annual audit and 990 process. 
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. 
    • Liaise with the Accounting Managers to improve financial procedures. 
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles. 
    • Assist in ad hoc projects. 
    • Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process. 

    Qualifying for this role means you have a BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field and proven experience as a senior accountant for 3-5 years. You have an in-depth understanding of GAAP, basic accounting principles and month-end/year-end close process. You have a strong knowledge of software accounting platforms such QuickBooks, are known to be an excellent team member and can work across teams.

    Working at Global Impact 

    Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time position based in the Alexandria, VA area. Currently, the team is operating in a hybrid work environment with dedicated in office days. Candidates must be able to work in the local office at least 1-3 days per week.

     The salary range is $80,000 - $90,000, depending on the experience you bring. On top of the competitive salary that we are offering, you’ll receive 16 paid holidays and 25 paid days off.
