    Executive Director

    Reports to: Board Chair and Board of Directors

    Salary: $125,000-$135,000 annually

    Hours: Full-time, Exempt, 40 hours, Monday – Friday with occasional weekend or evening events.

    Location: Oregon City, OR. (Travel requirements for this position are weekly commuting to AV41 home and partner sites. AV41 has a couple company vehicles that can be used for travel if available, and if not, AV41 reimburses for mileage at the federal rate.)

    A Village For One (AV41) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the vision of uniting community to heal our youth and end sexual exploitation. We carry out our mission by serving youth and young adults who are currently or have been identified as Commercially Sexual Exploited Children (CSEC). For the last 12 years, AV41 has been serving the vulnerable CSEC population in the state of Oregon by providing community-based mental health services, case management and therapeutic residential care, in which they can experience support, growth, and empowerment.

You have significant experience leading nonprofit organizations, particularly those serving vulnerable and high-needs populations, such as youth impacted by trauma.

You excel in fundraising, community engagement, and advocacy, driving sustainable growth for the organizations you serve. Above all, you are deeply committed to A Village for One's mission and vision, and you believe in the power of community-based solutions to heal and empower young survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

    Position Summary:

    The Executive Director (ED) of A Village for One (AV41) serves as the organization's key management leader, overseeing all operations and reporting directly to the Board of Directors. The ED is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans driving long-term sustainability while ensuring the organization's mission is fulfilled through impactful programming, financial oversight, and resource development.

    The ED works closely to ensure alignment on vision and goals with the Board, effective organizational practices and policies guiding the staff with senior management, stewardship of external relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders. A primary focus will be on leading the organization through a period of growth, including the expansion of therapeutic residential services and addressing challenges related to staff retention and burnout. The ED will serve as the main spokesperson in advocating for the needs of survivors of commercial sexual exploitation at local and state levels. This position directly supervises 6 positions: Clinical Director, Program Services Manager, Program Development Specialist, Development Director, Administrative Assistant, and Financial Controller (contractor).

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    Organization Leadership & Operations

    • Oversee the daily operations and decision-making for all internal operations, policies, and structure to ensure organizational compliance with all applicable state /federal regulations (i.e., taxes, registrations, insurance)
    • Provide oversight of HR policies and regulations in support of ongoing staff development, performance management, and fair compensation and benefits to cultivate and retain a talented workforce.
    • Lead, coach, develop, and sustain AV41's team through fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and team environment that values transparency and communication.
    • Ensure proper oversight and effective programming through active risk management, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on organizational outcomes to the board and stakeholders.
    • Lead and implement strategic planning efforts to ensure the organization's ability to continue to fulfill its mission.

    Board Governance

    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a strategic plan that aligns with AV41's mission and long-term objectives.
    • Provide regular updates and ensure open lines of communication between the board, staff, and key stakeholders.
    • Work with the Board of Directors to provide development and recruitment of members who bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives.

    Financial Performance, Viability & Fundraising

    • Oversee the organization's budget, ensuring that expenditures are aligned with strategic priorities and that the organization maintains financial solvency.
    • Maintain the fiscal integrity of AV41 by submitting to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements that accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
    • Fulfill the requirements of annual financial audits and other external financial reviews.
    • Lead fundraising strategy and efforts, working closely with the development team to meet organizational needs in achieving long-term sustainability.
    • Meet fundraising goals—leveraging the Board and others as appropriate—to secure financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors and government funding sources

    Advocacy & Community Relations

    • Serve as the public face of AV41 to increase awareness and advance mission advocating for the needs of survivors of commercial sexual exploitation at the local and state levels.
    • Build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and advocacy groups to further the mission of AV41.
    • Enhance the image of AV41 by participating in external events to increase visibility and credibility and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness.
    • Ensure that AV41 remains a leader in the field by staying informed of trends in youth services, trauma-informed care, and mental health policy.

    Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree (Master's and above) in psychology, social work, counseling/therapy and any other related field
    • 5+ years experience in nonprofit leadership responsible for operations, programming and team development
    • 4+ years experience implementing fundraising strategies and stewarding donor, philanthropic, government and corporate relationships
    • 3+ years experience with financial oversight, budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
    • Established record of collaboration building and maintaining strong relationships with boards, as well as key internal and external stakeholders
    • Strong working knowledge of health care delivery systems, community-based organizations, funders, trainers, and community partners
    • Familiarity with programs that serve youth or young adults
    • Must have access to reliable car and willingness to use car for work travel. If using your own car, maintain current insurance.
