Senior Accountant - Internal Finance - Global Impact

We are looking for an experienced detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our combined Nonprofit and corporate finance team (Global Impact, Geneva Global, Capital for Good)

The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include revenue recognition, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks. The ideal candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts, and experience collaborating with team of Accountants and Non-Accountants.

Major Responsibilities 

• Monitor current and all incoming contracts and services agreements for correct pricing/information and document under the correct revenue recognition accounts
• Review and manage Accounts Receivable Bot to ensure invoicing accuracy
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Support annual audit and 990 process
• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts receivable and assigned balanced sheet schedules
• Prepare assigned financial reports for EAP clients and Girls First Fund
• Special project accounting and reporting for in-country activities
• Prepare monthly revenue projections and 6 months cash flow
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaise with the Accounting Managers to improve financial procedures
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Assist in ad hoc projects
• Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process

Qualifications & Requirements 

• Proven experience as a senior accountant (5 years)
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant
• CPA (preferred)

The salary range is $ 75,000 to $85,000 depending on the role filled and the experience you bring.

Global Impact has a hybrid office model and employees are expected in the office at least one day a week and sometimes for other meetings or events. This role does have the potential to be fully remote.
