JOB SUMMARY AND KEY PRIORITIES:

The Senior Manager of K-12 Partnerships will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen and scale the nationwide impact of the Active Minds’ K-12 network. Through dynamic and visionary leadership, the Senior Manager of K-12 Partnerships will develop outreach strategies and partnerships between Active Minds and K-12 organizations, specifically supporting adult stakeholders (i.e. educators, parents, caregivers, etc.) in districts, schools, and national associations. This position will be part of the K-12 Initiatives team and will support Active Minds in redefining mental health in K-12 schools through supporting youth as they grow as mental health advocates in their schools and communities through Active Minds’ unique youth empowerment and peer-powered approach.  

The Senior Manager of K-12 Partnerships reports to the Director of K-12 Initiatives and will work collaboratively with the Active Minds Chapters and Higher Education teams, among other Active Minds staff members.

KEY RESULTS:

• K-12 Adult Stakeholder Relationship- and Partnership-Building: Develop an engagement strategy to help cultivate and strengthen relationships with key K-12 stakeholders, including district and school administrators, educators, parents/caregivers, and national association membership, to enhance awareness and impact of Active Minds and its programs. Ensure that all program-related key deliverables of the Active Minds strategic plan and grants are met or exceeded.  
• Education, Training and Technical Assistance: Create and promote parent/caregiver and teacher companions to Active Minds’ proprietary peer-powered curriculum. Develop and cultivate participation in continuing education strategies, such as trainings and technical assistance programs, for K-12 adult stakeholders such as parents and caregivers, educators, and school administrators.  
• Staff/Intern Management: Manage the work of at least one intern and/or staff member ensuring high-quality work and a positive professional development experience.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure that outreach, programs, content, and trainings are proactively anti-racist and inclusive of all youth and adult audiences we seek to reach. The Senior Manager will also serve as an internal project manager across teams for select projects that involve multiple departments.  
• Evaluation and Research: Work collaboratively with the Research and Evaluation Team to document and disseminate Active Minds’ impact through rigorous internal and external evaluation and research. The Senior Manager will effectively track and report progress of all projects and deliverables.  
• Administration: Manage budgets; maintain and track organized records in the organization-wide CRM system, Salesforce; and participate in cross-department committees and initiatives.  

Qualifications

• At least three to five years of demonstrated experience developing and sustaining positive relationships with key K-12 stakeholders, including students, parents and caregivers, educators, school administrators, and community partners
• Experience in program management, ideally building and scaling programs
• Strong background working with youth and adult stakeholders and developing mental health messaging, content, and programs
• Previous experience in school health and wellness committee work 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations and trainings and write reports and business correspondence
• Education in public health, health promotion, school health, public administration
• Belief that equity and social justice are important and drive to hear, reflect, and act on this belief
• Advocate for social entrepreneurship and a believer in young people making an impact  

Minimum salary for this position is $70,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid vacation and sick time; paid federal holidays; health, dental and vision coverage; and 401(k) matching. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount.
