At Green River, Project Managers are critical team members who collaborate with our clients to facilitate information-sharing and decision-making. They excel in eliciting and defining technical requirements, and guide projects through scope, timeline, and budget constraints. They love to create and sustain structure, yet are thoughtful, adaptable, and non-dogmatic in approach. And they deeply understand the processes behind creating and maintaining software solutions.

Green River is a 42 person remote company with a genuine focus on creating "software and analytics for a better world." Founded in 2000, we provide technology solutions to government, nonprofits, and corporations worldwide. We value team members who truly believe in social impact, and who bring a professional approach to delivering results. We enjoy a collaborative atmosphere, and have exceptionally long-term relationships with both our staff and clients.

We are looking for a team member who will…

  • Negotiate contracts with clients, balancing business needs with financial, operational, and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions with clients to gather and document work requirements.
  • Incorporate multiple disciplines into the discovery process such as design, engineering, and data analysis.
  • Document the scope, effort, and priority of each deliverable for clients.
  • Create development plans and review them with clients.
  • Organize deliverables into releases that align with the development plan.
  • Enter each deliverable in our issue tracking system with sufficient detail for assignment to the development team, including clarity of scope and effort.
  • Track and communicate progress on releases with the client in a manner that reinforces project vision and strategies.
  • Notify clients when deliverables in the development plan cannot meet schedule, scope, or cost constraints, and propose necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in the testing of all releases to ensure client expectations are met with respect to designs and specifications.
  • Gather and document client feedback on deliverables and collaborate on how best to incorporate feedback into the development plan.
  • Generate reports and present results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster an effective working environment that seeks to maximize team performance through goal setting and feedback.

Requirements (Skills and experience):

  • 3-5 years project management or analyst experience in agile-ish software development environment
  • Strong understanding of web application development
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical people
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, facilitation, and follow-through skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management techniques, tools, and software
  • Establish clear expectations for teams and provide constructive feedback on contributions
  • Comfort with embracing change and fostering innovation
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential data appropriately
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, GitHub Projects, Jira, Asana, or Figma is a plus
