Job Overview

MOVA is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, mission-driven professional to join our growing monitoring and compliance team. Reporting to the Director of Monitoring and Compliance, the Program Monitoring Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the grants monitoring process for multiple funding streams, including development, implementation, coordination, and technical assistance offerings. The Program Monitoring Coordinator must be a strong communicator, familiar with direct services programming, technically savvy, and have experience in program monitoring/audits or grant/program management.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day aspects of monitoring and compliance for grant sub-recipients and multiple funding streams as directed by the Director of Monitoring and Compliance
  • Conduct monitoring activities, including site visits and desk reviews, with sub-recipients to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines and regulations
  • Coordinate monitoring activities at funded agencies across the Commonwealth
  • Complete monitoring reports and manage all aspects of compliance follow up with sub-recipients in coordination with appropriate fiscal and grants department staff
  • Provide broad range of technical assistance to sub-recipients, including presentations and orientations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements for multiple state and federal funding streams
  • Assist in updating and maintaining monitoring and compliance policies, procedures, and materials
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and filing
  • Work collaboratively within teams and across departments to assure efficiency and accuracy of work products
  • Represent MOVA at community/regional/statewide meetings at the request of senior staff
  • Assist in external communications regarding grants and compliance information

Qualifications

·    Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for a degree

·      Experience in program monitoring or program audits and grant or program management

·      Familiarity with direct services programming (e.g. social services, sexual and domestic violence services, etc.)

·      Strong written and oral communication skills and relationship building skills

·      Strong attention to detail and overall organizational skills

·      Ability to establish and meet deadlines and effectively problem solve

·      Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and capacity to learn other specific software

·      Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

·      Commitment to furthering the agency’s overall mission

·      Valid driver’s license. Travel throughout Massachusetts required

·      Salary range of $52,000 to $55,000 annually

·      As a condition of employment, successful applicants will be required to have received COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption as of their start date

·      Position is primarily work from home with regular (weekly) travel throughout MA, including to MOVA office locations in Boston and Northampton and sub-recipient agencies
