The City of Oakland, Human Services Department, Head Start Division is currently recruiting for an Exempt Limited Duration Employee (ELDE). ELDEs may work for a maximum of one year and are eligible for city benefits. After one year, we anticipate a permanent full-time position will become available. This ELDE position will work a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Regular work hours are 8:30am-5:00pm with occasional need for early morning or later evening hours required.
Under direction in the Human Services Department, performs coordination of Head Start facilities maintenance and use; ensures facility safety and licensing requirements and regulations are met; maintains and tracks facility inventory; and performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the following minimum qualifications is acceptable.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, education, public administration or a closely related field is desirable.
Experience: Two years of progressively responsible work experience in facility maintenance. Work experience with social service, public health, or educational programs is desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Successful Incumbents in this position are expected to operate automotive vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. Due to the nature of the assignment and hours worked, public transportation may not be a cost effective or efficient method for traveling to the various locations required. Individuals who are appointed to this position will be required to maintain a valid California Driver's License throughout the tenure of employment OR demonstrate the ability to travel to various locations in a timely manner as required in the performance of duties.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Depending on nature of assignment candidates who receive offers of employment will be required to submit fingerprints, undergo a criminal record clearance, and have a physical examination including a TB screening.
