Supervisory National Bank Examiner (Climate Risk)

As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner (Climate Risk), you will serve as the Chief Climate Risk Officer and CC's principal representative and coordinate directly with other divisions, regulatory agencies and committee to administer the climate risk program. Additionally, you will provide high-level expertise and broad organizational perspective, advice and support to the bank supervision functions across the OCC's supervision units.



As a Supervisory Bank Examiner (Climate Risk), you will:

  • Serve as the OCC's authoritative representative for agency related climate matters including representing the agency the Climate-related Financial Risk Committee and conducting outreach activities with various industry groups related to climate risk.
  • Be responsible for the overall administration of climate risk initiatives and program, serve as the climate program's liaison for inter-agency collaboration and initiatives and as the point of contact within the OCC, and coordinate with the other agencies' climate risk coordinators.
  • Develop and implement climate risk related policies and procedures and liaise and support other business units on policy development, supervisory guidance, scenario analysis, and climate risk related research and reporting.
  • Exercise responsibility for authoritative advice regarding industry practices, trends in climate risk management, and changes or enhancements to those practices.
  • Coordinate with the OCC lines of business on climate risk issues and initiatives, develop related risk management guidance, develop supervisory strategies and initiatives, and obtain appropriate OCC senior management approvals.
  • Liaise with other risk areas, such as credit, market and operations risk, to support multi-disciplinary reviews related to climate risk and acts as a expert technical advisor to OCC management, Bank Supervision Policy, and field examiners; analyzes highly complex and emerging risks associated with climate risk to identify areas of systemic risk.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the staff, and plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and review their work.
  • Monitor the progress of assignments, evaluate training/ developmental needs, arrange training, as appropriate, and establish/assess guidelines and performance expectations.
