West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority

RecycleMore (West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority) is a local government agency in the state of California serving the communities of El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, San Pablo, and unincorporated West Contra Costa County. RecycleMore was created because of Assembly Bill 939 (AB939), which was passed in 1989 and mandated a 50% reduction in landfilled trash by the year 2000. AB 939 required the creation of a plan to reduce solid waste and a demonstration of good faith effort to implement the approved plan or to take other actions to achieve the State mandated reduction in waste. RecycleMore educates and works with the West County communities to meet these goals focusing on the 4 R's - reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot, and other practices that provide an overall benefit to the environment in the area of solid waste reduction.
