Generation Teach is a national nonprofit committed to ending racial injustice and inequity in education. We launched in Denver, CO in 2014, opened in Massachusetts in 2015, expanded to Rhode Island in 2017, piloted virtual programming in 2020, and began elementary programming in 2021.

The Administrative Manager will lead Generation Teach’s AmeriCorps, program, and finance administration. The Administrative Manager will report to the Senior Director of Finance and Talent and serve as an integral part of the national team. The position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to identify, initiate, implement, and streamline processes, and a strong customer service orientation. As a remote employee of a national team, the Administrative Manager will contribute to team initiatives and travel 4-6 weeks/year. This position offers considerable professional development and growth opportunities and is an ideal fit for a professional with strong administrative skills.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

AmeriCorps

  • Initiate onboarding through AmeriCorps background check and enrollment invitations.
  • Troubleshoot enrollment challenges (e.g., the need for additional documentation).
  • Create and manage all AmeriCorps member files.
  • Review and organize timesheets.
  • Exit all members from the AmeriCorps program after their term of service.

Program

  • Lead summer supply ordering, tracking and inventory for 6-week summer programs in 6 cities.
  • Track fingerprinting and help schedule students.
  • Manage Google file sharing for participants.
  • Collect data to inform program improvement. 
  • Answer questions and provide customer support during onboarding and programming.

Finance

  • Perform bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll preparation, and monthly closing entries.     
  • Assist Senior Director of Finance & Talent with financial filing and auditing preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree; familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience; with some customer service experience     
  • AmeriCorps service alum or AmeriCorps Administration experience
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Excel 
  • Passion for Generation Teach’s mission, vision, and values
  • Willingness to work effectively on a remote team and efficiently manage systems

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting salary range for this position is $45K - $55K with excellent benefits and a collaborative team environment. Please submit a cover letter and your resume to admin@genteach.org.
