CLEAN VEHICLES CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW:

The Clean Vehicles Campaign (CVC) is an unbranded coalition of more than 60 groups from various areas dedicated to advancing policies to reduce pollution from cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles. The Campaign works to leverage existing infrastructure, resources, and assets and collaborates with allied coalitions. 

In the next year, the Campaign seeks to accelerate the drive to a zero-emission future in the transportation sector with a robust U.S. manufacturing sector, strong vehicle standards, and equitable resource deployment.

The Clean Vehicles Campaign is a project of the Partnership Project. 


POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Clean Vehicles Campaign seeks a Financial Coordinator to add to our growing team. This person will work under the Deputy Director to support the Campaign's mission and maintain strong working relationships with coalition members, funders, allies, the campaign’s fiscal sponsor and other key stakeholders. 


Candidates should have some experience with foundation reporting and budgeting; possess strong written and verbal communications skills, and a strong attention to detail. Additionally, candidates should be excited and eager to implement a financial plan and enjoy collaborating with staff and consultants. 


While the Financial Coordinator will report to the Deputy Director, the Coordinator will work with all of the CVC team and will be in constant communication with CVC’s fiscal sponsor on grants management, budgeting, and foundation reporting. 


PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Financial Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:


Budget and Partner sub-grant Management

  • Assisting the Director with tracking and updating the team’s budget, contracts, grants, and MOUs 
  • Managing reimbursements for the CVC team 
  • Working with CVC and partner organizations to develop grants and contracts, setting mutually agreed upon deliverables and serving as the main point of contact for tracking the progress of final contracts or grants
  • Tracking expense and revenue information for CVC 
  • Working with the Director to create an annual budget including outreach to other campaign staff and coalition partners on priorities, and helping identify potential staff growth opportunities 
  • Working with CVC’s fiscal sponsor for gift processing, tracking, and reporting


Funder Engagement and Support 

  • Helping to develop and maintain language and funder-facing materials that present a creative and compelling view of CVC’s strategic plans and accomplishments.
  • Effectively drafting dynamic and high-quality writing for initial drafts of grant applications
  • Developing written reports and related materials for program funders and other high-level stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to: 
  • Funder email updates
  • Writing regular reports on campaign priorities and accomplishments
  • Developing and managing presentations for current and prospective funder audiences
  • Managing and assisting with telling CVC’s stories to internal and external partners by: 
  • Compiling quantitative and qualitative reports on activity to support reports to funders and outreach efforts; monitoring and updating the reporting database 
  • Writing highlights and activity reports
  • Participating in regular stakeholder meetings 
  • Building and maintaining exceptional professional relationships with national partners, funders and coalitions
  • Creating and managing a grant calendar to track all upcoming applications and reports and collaborating with staff as needed


Program Administration: 

  • Participating in and helping to run weekly team meetings 
  • Contributing towards a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment. 
  • Maintaining accurate records in databases and tracking systems, updated in a timely manner for effective information sharing in our remote culture
  • Working with the full team to manage organizational operations, including office management, on boarding and off boarding of staff, and campaign-wide service support
  • Helping manage coalition retreats and events, when applicable

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Key Qualifications 

We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications: 

  • Previous experience working for a nonprofit on foundation reporting 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Passion for spreadsheets 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • An eagerness to support CVC in achieving revenue goals, executing fundraising efforts, and serving as the front-line contact for all operational needs, updates, and edits
  • Proficiency at handling multiple priorities, working efficiently and collaboratively, and taking initiative 


Other qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience 
  • Some experience with grants operations, ranging from budget monitoring to grant reporting
  • An understanding of how nonprofits operate, particularly in areas of fundraising and marketing/communications
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including excellent writing and editing skills, persuasive communication, and strong spreadsheet skills 
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite 
  • An ability to be team player who works well with others and can manage multiple projects, including in urgent situations 
  • A willingness to take initiative, exercise good judgment, and use diplomacy and discretion

Compensación

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The target salary for this position is $60,000- $65,000, depending on experience. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
