If so, we’re looking for you! Austin Clubhouse is hiring a full-time Staff Generalist. 

We are a local nonprofit that promotes mental health by reducing isolation and building community. We adhere to the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs, a non-clinical model of recovery focused on offering opportunities for adults to engage in meaningful work at our Clubhouse.

Position Summary: The Staff Generalist leads daily activities and projects at Austin Clubhouse, working side-by-side with members (Clubhouse program participants). The Staff Generalist ensures members are engaged and working together to complete tasks, including kitchen and snack bar operations, vegetable gardening and community outreach. The Staff Generalist links members to community resources and promotes whole health and wellness at the Clubhouse.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all kitchen operations while engaging members in activities, including ordering, cooking, and cleaning. 
  • Co-facilitate daily meetings with members and staff to organize work projects.
  • Plan and shop for lunch, dinner, snack, and kitchen supplies.
  • Work with members to prepare lunch for 20+ people daily, organizing tasks and providing cooking support. 
  • Conduct reach-out calls to Clubhouse members to reduce isolation and offer support.
  • Co-facilitate Clubhouse tours for potential new members.
  • Work with members on creative multimedia projects such as videos and newsletters. 
  • Tend the vegetable garden, including planting, watering and harvesting with members. 
  • Identify and promote whole health and wellness concepts at the Clubhouse.
  • Goal set with members and provide links to community resources.
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships. 
  • Make community presentations.
  • Track outcomes and complete program reports. 


 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human services. Willing to consider job-related human-services, health and/or food service experience in substitution.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably individuals with mental health diagnoses.
  • Working familiarity with Google Suite, Zoom and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Ability to work one evening a month, one Saturday a quarter, and three holidays a year.

Compensation:

  • $20.00/hour 
  • Benefits package: medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
