Queens Community House (QCH) is one of the borough’s premiere social service organizations. Our programs serve residents of all ages, classes, races and ethnicities while supporting the viability of neighborhoods and the borough as a whole. Our mission is to provide individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities. We provide programs for children, teens, adults and older adults at 36 program sites in 14 different neighborhoods across the borough, serving 25,000 people each year. Our programs are designed to promote equal access to opportunity for low-income and immigrant families, and to break down barriers of race and class by serving a broad array of Queens residents. A modern interpretation of the traditional settlement house, QCH is a strong and growing organization deeply committed to social and economic justice, impact measurement, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate communications with the Board of Directors, including preparation of materials for quarterly board meetings.
  • Draft and/or review written reports and advocacy for both internal and external audiences.
  • Conduct research to support organizational advocacy efforts and new program development.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of QCH’s Strategic Plan.
  • Prospect potential real estate opportunities.
  • Support other External Affairs functions, including grant-writing and communications work, as needed.
  • Support and develop materials to help staff strengthen their understand of and commitment to QCH’s mission and vision.
  • Explore opportunities for fee-based programming and other alternative revenue streams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Five years of professional experience, with two years of project management experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent cooperative and people skills, including the ability to network with multiple external stakeholders, and the ability to motivate staff who are not direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to carry out duties with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • “Can-do” attitude.
  • Deep commitment to Queens Community House’s mission and vision.
