Impact Manager

 

The Impact Manager is a key player in executing on the organization’s newly approved strategic plan. Responsible for outreach initiatives within target communities the Impact Manger will work to attract and recruit program locations and volunteers. The Impact Manager will be charged with building and managing community task forces within target neighborhood assignment. The Impact Manager reports to the Director of Impact. Evening and weekend hours are occasionally required. Vacation blackout periods due to program and event schedule may apply.

 

Organization Description:

Girls on the Run-Chicago (GOTRC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to inspire 3rd-8th grade girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. More than just a running program, GOTRC uses a cutting-edge curriculum that addresses the unique developmental stages of 8-14 year olds. The fun, innovative program combines training for a 5K with interactive lessons that encourage positive physical and social-emotional health.

 

Community Engagement:

-      Oversee the planning and implementation of outreach strategies and overall community relations within key neighborhood portfolio

-      Identify, coordinate, and participate in community engagement events (including some nights or weekends) to identify community needs, share impact data, and/or promote the work of Girls on the Run – Chicago

-      Develop and maintain effective relationships with members of the community and community-based organizations

-      Build Community Taskforce model, including recruiting members, staffing Taskforce, and facilitating meetings (approximately 4-6 meetings times per year)

-      Facilitate new projects/initiatives recommended by the taskforce

 

Site Management: 

  • Manage a portfolio of school and community based sites within key neighborhoods
  • Conduct a site visit for each site annually (at minimum), to ensure sites have what they need to facilitate the program effectively, participants have what they need to get the greatest value out of programming, and sites are in compliance with program policies.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a continuum of service strategy that ensures programming is available for both elementary aged and middle school aged participants
  • Develop a volunteer coach profile that meets key neighborhood needs; support sites by providing tools and resources and through your own relationship development to to recruit coaches that meet the coach profile
  • Create follow-up with new sites to determine success of season and additional recruitment needs

·        Assist with execution of seasonal volunteer coach trainings

·        Engage partners and new audiences to engage in GOTR events and activities

 

Your Strengths

●      Communication- You are have strong group facilitation, public speaking, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

●      Relationship building- You have established relationships, and extensive experience working with community-based and/or non-profit organizations throughout the City of Chicago, City of Chicago Public Schools, and City of Chicago government.

●      Project Management – You are a proactive and detail-oriented planner who uses your skills and abilities in data analysis to translate complex issues into actionable efforts. You can be counted on to take a project from start to finish. You are resilient and use your critical thinking skills to navigate through tricky or ambiguous projects.

●      Team Player – You are someone who enjoys being part of a team and leading a team. You are collaborative and motivational.

Qualifications:

·        Background in community development, community organizing, or nonprofit management, and/or school based.

  • Proficiency in Spanish (or other highly spoken language) is a plus

·        Computer competence in Microsoft Word and Outlook

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to be an excellent ambassador for GOTRC to quickly engage, relate to, and motivate a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal experience
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check

 

Compensation: 55k
