Reproductive Equity Now (REN) seeks a full-time (40 hours per week) Digital
Communications Officer to lead digital communications for our rapidly growing organization.
This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for reproductive equity and has a deep
knowledge of digital communications and content production. Reporting to the
Communications Director, and in close collaboration with the Development Director, the
Digital Communications Officer will expand Reproductive Equity Now’s digital footprint and
build online community around abortion access and reproductive equity issues.
Since 1972, Reproductive Equity Now has led the way in advancing reproductive freedom in
the Commonwealth. After recently rebranding our organization, we are on a path to regional
expansion. Our mission is to make equitable access to the full spectrum of reproductive health
care a reality for all people regardless of their race, ethnicity, income, zip code, gender, age,
immigration status, ability, sexual orientation, or religion. Advancing reproductive justice and
eliminating barriers to safe, legal abortion care are central to our mission.
Components ofthis role include, but are notlimited to:
● Writing daily content and managing scheduling for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
accounts, including drafting, conceptualizing graphics, videos, brainstorming calls to
action, and copywriting.
● Strategizing and executing innovative social media projects to help grow and engage
our audience.
● Reporting on audience growth, content performance, and engagement that can adapt
to and meet the needs of Reproductive Equity Now.
● Serving as primary content manager for Reproductive Equity Now’s website, managing
content and other updates as necessary.
● Tracking and analyzing user data to increase interaction with Reproductive Equity
Now’s online and email content.
● Supporting the Communications Director in drafting and editing organizational
materials including, for example, the annual report.
● Continually ensuring design, message, and layout of email campaigns are optimized to
boost interactions and fundraising.
● Helping manage, create, and send fundraising and development email communications
through EveryAction.
● Special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director,
Communications Director, or Development Director.
Qualifications:
● 2 to 4 years experience in digital communications, ideally at a nonprofit or political
organization.
● Excellent news sense and communications expertise.
● Experience creating and sending mass email campaigns.
● Experience with search engine optimization.
● Experience with web development is a plus.
● Experience with EveryAction or similar online organizing platform is a plus.
● Experience with GSuite (and proficiency in use of Excel and PowerPoint).
● Clear, concise, and highly skilled written and oral communication.
● Commitment to Reproductive Equity Now’s core mission, values and programs.
● Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Location:
Reproductive Equity Now offers a hybrid work environment. Applicants must be based in New
England or willing to relocate and able to come to the organization’s main office in Boston as-needed for in-person
activities.
Salary and Benefits:
The Digital Communications Officer is a full-time, 40-hour per week, exempt position. The
salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 in addition to a generous benefit package including health
and dental insurance and a retirement account with employer match.
