 Disability Rights International (DRI) is the world’s leading international human rights group dedicated to the rights protection and community integration of people with disabilities. DRI documents human rights abuses and supports the development and training of a disability rights movement around the world. DRI has staff in Washington, DC, Massachusetts, the UK, the Balkans and Latin America.

We are a small group, spread out over the world, and every employee is key. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our work and willing to jump in anywhere to help. The successful candidate must have a work history demonstrating an ability to work in a manner that is accurate, reliable, trustworthy, pro-active, and independent.

Core Activities (as time requires):

1.      Maintain donor data base and assist with funder correspondence;

2.      Update website and content and sending out news updates to followers;

3.      Provide administrative support to Director of Finance and Administration as needed;

4.      Support professional advocacy staff in all aspects of basic office technology, software, and document preparation;

5.      Maintain development calendar to ensure we meet proposal and reporting deadlines;

Additional activities (as time allows):

6.      Assist with social media to expand our reach;

7.      Help research and prepare grant proposals, donor appeals, and foundation reports;

8.      Assist advocacy staff with research and writing projects.

You need be:

·      capable of attention to detail;

·      able to assist advocacy staff with computer and office technology in fast-paced advocacy organization; able to use WordPress or other web development software, Constant Contact, and social media for public communications campaigns (video editing skills a plus);

·      have a sense of design to maintain user-friendly, attractive, and professional website and publications;

·      a good communicator – strong research and writing skills are essential;

·      a self-starter who can work independently;

·      easy to get along with and a team player;

·      able to juggle multiple projects and meet required deadlines;

·      creative, imaginative, and inspired.

A Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years relevant experience required.

USD $40.000 - USD $50.000

salary commensurate with experience

Compensación

Annual salary: up to $50,000/year plus generous benefit package (five weeks of vacation, sick leave, employer-paid medical, dental, and disability insurance, employer contribution to retirement). Must be able to work in Washington, DC office at least one day/week.
