Project Manager - Clean Casas

Day One is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead the installation of induction stoves in communities across the San Gabriel Valley through Clean Casas. Clean Casas is funded by a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Community Change Grant. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and executing the installation of induction stoves in 60 homes to provide cleaner, safer cooking options for underserved communities. The Project Manager will work closely with Day One’s partners as they manage the installation of other green technologies in homes such as rooftop solar, battery storage, and cool roofs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community-based project management, excellent partnership-building skills, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing disadvantaged communities. This role requires exceptional organizational abilities, the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders, and the ability to engage effectively with local partners, including residents, community organizations, businesses, and municipal agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive workplan for the installation of 60 induction stoves across the San Gabriel Valley.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local homeowners to ensure successful project implementation.
• Coordinate logistics, resources, and timelines to ensure the timely and effective installation of induction stoves.
• Engage and collaborate with community members to promote the benefits of the induction stoves.
• Address any challenges or barriers that arise during the project implementation and work to resolve them.
• Conduct outreach and community engagement activities to ensure broad support for the project, including educational efforts around the importance of clean air and electric appliances.

• Knowledge of electric appliances and clean air
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Non-Traditional Work Hours

This position requires working non-traditional hours that may require early mornings, evenings and weekends in order to accommodate youth and family schedules, school district meetings, city council meetings, community events/meetings, and any other convenings that support the completion of project and organizational goals.
