POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Foundation Giving Associate is responsible for all stages of securing funding from foundation partners, including conducting research, organizing internal data, completing grant applications, and stewarding partner relationships. This position reports to, and supports, the Director of Development and Communications, and works closely with the Operations team and My Life My Choice’s programs.

 AS FOUNDATION GIVING ASSOCIATE, YOU WILL:

·      Manage the grant process from beginning to end, i.e. research new/existing opportunities, gather necessary information and resources, write proposals and reports, manage grant compliance, and manage MLMC’s annual grant calendar

·      Assist in stewarding relationships with foundations and funders

·      Update and maintain records in Salesforce and other data management systems

·      Facilitate inter-departmental communications and data management to maintain timely, accurate data records for grants, reports, and other resources

·      Participate in planning and executing events, fundraising campaigns, and special projects

·      Help further develop and maintain MLMC’s strength-based, survivor-centric voice for social justice by writing and reviewing content

·      Attend trainings, conferences, and similar events

·      Work to ensure cross-functionality and seamless operations of the Development department

·      Other tasks as needed

 REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 1-3 years of development/fundraising experience preferred. The ideal candidate is a forward thinker who anticipates next steps while striving for excellence. This Foundation Giving Associate will thrive in our dynamic, fast-paced environment which is experiencing rapid change and growth. An ideal candidate will possess:

 ·      A personal interest in and commitment to social justice, in particular ending the commercial sexual exploitation of children

·      Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills

·      Demonstrated experience writing grants and managing the grants application/reporting process

·      Demonstrated experience working with foundations, donors, community members, volunteers, and business professionals

·      The ability to think with the “big picture” in mind and plan for the long-term

·      A willingness and initiative to learn, grow, and creatively enhance My Life My Choice’s Development department

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

·      Ability to be flexible, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with poise, enthusiasm, discretion and professionalism

·      Proficiency in development-related tools, such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Constant Contact, Eventbrite, and Classy or other online fundraising platform(s)

·      A high level of comfort and accuracy in working with numbers, data, and spreadsheets

·      Ability to proofread and edit a range of written and visual materials

·      Desire to work in a culturally and racially diverse office setting

·      Survivors of commercial sexual exploitation are encouraged to apply
