Trauma Stewardship Facilitator

About Trauma Stewardship at the NW Network: The NW Network offers several supports to help our advocacy team manage and mitigate the impacts of trauma exposure and to ensure the sustainability and wellness of our staff. A key component of this trauma stewardship practice is our organization’s Trauma Stewardship Facilitator, who provides one monthly one-hour support session to each direct service staff member. The Trauma Stewardship Facilitator will spend 4-7 hours per month in individual sessions with direct service staff. Compensation is hourly and commensurate with the hourly rate charged by the service provider. Applicants do not need a specific degree or level of education to apply. We encourage individuals with a wide range of backgrounds in healing and therapeutic practices to apply.

What you’ll do:

o Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality in compliance with NW Network confidentiality practices and values.

o Offer monthly one-hour sessions to direct service staff members not to exceed 7 sessions per month.

o Provide direct service staff with key skills, practices, and framing to support them in managing trauma exposure.

o Strengthen the resilience of the NW Network advocacy team.

What you bring:

o Knowledge of key skills, practices and framing to support individuals managing ongoing trauma exposure.

o An understanding of by and for services: the unique impact of individuals from community supporting the traumatic experiences of other members of community.

o Demonstrated skill in active listening, creativity, emotional intelligence, adaptability, discernment, sitting with discomfort and supporting others in their resiliency and self-care practices.

o A nuanced understanding of anti-oppression and racial justice frameworks and how systemic violence impacts instances of domestic and sexual violence in LGBTQ+ relationships and communities.

o A demonstrated commitment to survivors of violence and the self-determination of LGBTQ+ communities.
