The Purpose

Organizational Mission: Strengthen youth, inspire families, and build communities that reach their potential.

Our Vision: Create access to a fair learning and playing field for Portland’s most underserved youth.

The Opportunity

Portland Tennis and Education (“PT&E”) creates opportunities for underserved Portland youth to thrive through year-round academics, athletics, life skills, and community support. It is the goal of PT&E to ensure that every student involved in our K – 12 program graduates high school with the opportunity and tools to pursue the post-secondary path of their choosing. Through tennis, PT&E instills in young people a love of the game while also strengthening character, building life skills, and inspiring a healthy lifestyle. Each year, PT&E provides each student in our program 900+ hours of positive, structured, out-of-school time.

As Director of Programs at PT&E, you will serve as a senior member of our leadership and management team and will be responsible for all facets of our year-round programming for K - 12 students. You will manage a team of individuals who work directly with students and families in North Portland. You will also closely partner with PT&E’s Director of Tennis to ensure vision alignment, integrated programming, and consistent expectations for students and staff. Keys to success include a steadfast commitment to equal opportunity for kids and families, a belief in the power of collective leadership, and strong organizational and communication skills across both big picture and day-to-day matters.

As we celebrate our 25th year, PT&E is proud of our nationally-recognized impact on students, families, and our community. We look forward to meeting candidates for this key leadership position on a fun, dedicated, growth-oriented team!
