With your help, we can build the next generation of Latinx leaders. Located in Forest Grove, Oregon and founded in 2002, Adelante Mujeres is known for innovative responses to community concerns.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

As part of the Adelante Mujeres Development Team, the Grants Officer champions the health of the organization and the needs of our employees.  This role will work as a grant writer, grant administrator and will support our funder cultivation work. The role is designed to help position Adelante Mujeres for its next stage of growth and success. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong writing skills and the ability to organize and coordinate cultivation efforts for funders we receive grants from. The Grants Officer reports to the Grants Manager.  

  • Prepare and submit grants at the foundation, corporate, state, and federal level. On average, five grants per month.  
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and procedures for grant tracking on Adelante’s Salesforce Database and Trello Account. 
  • Steward engagement with a portfolio of up to 50 active and prospective private, corporate and government funders. In collaboration with the Grants & Development Team, engagement will include tracking of funder relationship, in-person visits, reports, and informal updates.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  

We recognize that there are multiple expressions of professional readiness.  When we review applications, we take a comprehensive look at each applicant. Our goal is to assess your unique strengths. The ideal candidate has many of the following skills and experience:  

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities 
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience such as grants writing.  
  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business management/administration, social sciences) 
  • Excellent written communications, especially adept at developing and pitching persuasive grant proposals  
  • High degree of initiative and strategic problem solving 
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred, but not required 
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred 
  • Committed to education, social justice, women’s empowerment, immigrant and environmental justice  

Additional Requirements:  

  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical accommodation  
  • Complete Criminal Background Check 
  • Possess current driver’s license and auto insurance coverage 
  • Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings 

SALARY & BENEFITS: 

  • Salary range: $55,000-$57,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Full-time, exempt  
  • Telework: In-person is requested on an as needed basis and attendance is required for mandatory meetings including all staff meetings and annual retreats.
