Salary range starts at $60,000 and is commensurate with experience.

The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms around the world. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities. Nationally and internationally, the Center performs original research and provides consulting services to justice innovators.

In 2015 the Center launched Project Reset, a diversion program that seeks to forge a new response to low-level offending that is proportionate, effective, and humane. Project Reset seeks to hold people accountable for their actions while avoiding the use of incarceration and the potential harms associated with the traditional criminal justice process. The goal is to restore confidence in justice and bolster the legitimacy of law enforcement in the eyes of the public, helping to mend relations between the community and the justice system. Project Reset initially worked only with 16- and 17-year-olds in several precincts in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but its demonstrated impact resulted in its expansion. Today, Project Reset is active in all of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx for people of all ages and will now be launched in Staten Island.

The Staten Island Justice Center is seeking a Program Manager for Project Reset Staten Island. Reporting to the Project Director, the Program Manager will oversee the project’s day-to-day operations, programming, reporting, and will manage staff. The Program Manager, along with the rest of the Project Reset team, will work to identify appropriate partnerships and referrals sources for additional voluntary services and assist in building and strengthening stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the daily operations of outreach, intake, scheduling, use of program space, and completion;
  • Manage training and development for approximately two staff on the diversion team;
  • Develop and deliver new group-based programming to be completed by Project Reset participants;
  • Oversee case management services to participants that address issues such as substance use, mental health, trauma, and educational and vocational needs;
  • Monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement in all aspects of the project;
  • Produce written reports outlining program outcomes, accomplishments and challenges;
  • Collaborate with the Center’s data and research team to ensure data collection protocols are met;
  • Work closely with senior staff to ensure policies and procedures are consistent with the rest of Staten Island Justice Center operations;
  • Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and partners;
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the project and program activities;
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and off-site visits; evening and weekend community meetings, and other events and programming, as required;
  • Assist with other Staten Island Justice Center intakes, screenings, and any other tasks, as needed;
