Position Overview
The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (the Global Partnership), hosted at the United Nations Foundation, is a dynamic international network bringing together hundreds of partners including governments, international organizations, private companies, and civil society organizations. We make connections and broker partnerships to improve data production, access and use to drive better decisions to end poverty, improve environmental sustainability, and advance equal opportunities for all. The Global Partnership Secretariat, within which this role is based, supports the network by convening and connecting partners to catalyze solutions to development issues and leverage the power of data to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
This role is overseen and works closely with the Senior Engagement Manager, who is based in New York. The role sits within the External Relations team, but provides cross-team support to the Secretariat, helping support a vibrant network of 600+ organizations from across the globe. The associate will be instrumental in ensuring that the network thrives by finding relevant opportunities and stakeholders to achieve its objectives.
This position is remote with a preference for New York, NY or Bogota, Colombia.
Essential functions
Support core partner management activities (35%)
- Prepare relevant communications, updates, social media posts, and emails to keep the network and Secretariat informed
- Support project administration related to partner engagement systems and workflows
- Support partner interactions, noting actions, scheduling meetings, and following up
- Contribute to website management by adding, editing, and updating partner content using a simple content management system
- Complete stakeholder analysis frameworks to identify and reach out to potential partners across regions (e.g., Latin America) and sectors (e.g., non-profit), and to map data ecosystems at the national, regional, and global levels
- Perform data analysis and visualizations through different software types such as Excel, Tableau, and Flourish
- Assemble and manage surveys and polls in platforms like SurveyMonkey and Google Forms
- Support Global Partnership events and partner convenings through planning, logistics, note taking, registration, and collecting feedback
- Conduct relevant due diligence processes
Focal point for customer relationship management (CRM) system (35%)
- Maintain an up-to-date master database of our partners’ key information
- Communicate internally relevant updates regarding our CRM, Apptivo
- Support logistics of team engagement activities such as “CRM Mondays.”
- Organize Apptivo trainings and update learning tools
- Work alongside team members to integrate new databases and adopt new ways to use the CRM
Other duties (30%)
- Participate and support team meetings, activities, and retreats
- Participate in annual partner feedback processes
- Travel internationally several times per year for team offsites and events
- Maintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement process (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly. (As applicable to the role)
- Draft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF’s finance/contracts team as needed. (As applicable to the role)
- Attend training sessions provided by UNF’s contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNF’s current policies and procedures. (As applicable to the role)
- Maintain a strong knowledge of UNF’s Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information and prepare reports. (As applicable to the role)

Selection criteria
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience
- Spanish language skills required
- Ability to work across departments and with partners from different organizations to accomplish goals and objectives
- Ability to plan and execute projects to completion
- Ability to flexibly manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and deadlines
- Highly detail-oriented and organized personality
- Willingness to help with tasks beyond their immediate role when needed
- Continuous learning skills and ability to quickly adopt new software and tech tools
- Ability to work well with individuals from very different cultural and institutional backgrounds
- Working experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Communication skills (listening, speaking, and writing), as well as the ability to synthesize information
- Data skills (database cleaning, management, CRM knowledge, data visualization and analysis) preferred
- Private sector work experience preferred
- Multicultural work or personal experience preferred
- Interest or knowledge in international development issues or data-related fields preferred
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress
- Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy
- Up to 10% international travel required
