Seattle Theatre Group (STG) is a nonprofit organization established in 1990 to create enriching arts experiences, engage diverse communities, and preserve historic theaters. We promote diverse arts participation by removing barriers. Our performances include Broadway shows, concerts, comedians, dance performances, and speaking events. Our Education and Community Engagement (ECE) Programs offer classes, workshops, events and summer camps for community members.  ECE is determined to provide programming for historically excluded communities. 

The newly created Education and Community Engagement Marketing Coordinator position will work cross-departmentally with STG’s Marketing and Education & Community Engagement (ECE) teams to promote all aspects of ECE programs. These programs include multiple workshops, camps, and performances over the year in STG venues and throughout the community. The successful candidate is a Marketing professional with solid experience in project management, social media outreach, creating marketing campaigns, and placing local advertising. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines. This position earns $25.08 - $35.11 per hour, with a midpoint of $30.09/hour, plus Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, and Life insurance benefits as well as paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave and 403(b) with a discretionary match. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work daily with ECE team to prioritize programs and upcoming marketing & communications needs with equity and accessibility at the forefront 
  • Work directly with STG Associate Director of Marketing to map out and implement marketing & communications plans (set timelines, place media, request materials, etc)  
  • Project-manage all design requests, distribute materials for edits/approvals, and traffic ads to media appropriately.  
  • Collaborates with ECE and Marketing teams to write and design newsletters, annual reports, event materials, brochures and other public-facing publications and digital and printed materials.  
  • Manage all ECE social channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), which includes 
  • Maintaining a social media calendar for all ECE content 
  • Gathering photos, quotes, stories etc., to post on channels  
  • Posting content regularly according to the calendar  
  • Responding to messages through social channels  
  • Working closely with STG’s Social Media manager  
  • Coordinate all mailings (with mail house) and emails (with STG’s Digital Marketing Manager) – including content and target lists  
  • Schedule program announcements, alerts and releases with STG’s PR Manager 
  • Build and track online registration forms for a variety of programs. 
  • Work directly with STG's Data Specialist to ensure patron lists are collected and segmented appropriately 
  • Create reports for sales and registrations as requested. 
  • Stay updated on emerging marketing tools and trends in order to make recommendations to improve current practices. 
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed with flexibility to take on new roles or responsibilities as the company evolves.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2 years of professional experience in marketing, non-profit arts organization, and communications preferred. 
  • Expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility frameworks and an ability to relate to diverse professional, cultural, and social perspectives in Marketing  
  • Must have exceptional copywriting skills for program descriptions, emails, newsletters, social posts, and other promotional needs. 
  • Must have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks at once and within a determined timeframe. 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Able to focus, prioritize, and make decisions in an ever-changing environment. 
  • Must handle pressure situations tactfully and diplomatically, accomplishing objectives with a collaborative work style.
  • Experience working directly with graphic designers is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member. 
  • Spanish-speaking writing a plus 
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Work in an office environment as well as a hybrid work schedule. 
  • Must be able to lift or move 15-pound boxes. 
  • Nights and weekends are required based on events
