Position Summary

The Program Associate in an interdisciplinary team to provide services for women in N Street Village’s programs that include day services, low barrier shelter, temporary shelter, and permanent supportive housing.

Essential Duties

  • Develop a positive rapport with each resident through routine contact and communication
  • Provides support and assistance by completing care coordination tasks such as; completing referrals for services and residency forms
  • Assist in the implementation of case plans and document the client interactions in HMIS and/or OCTO database
  • Immediately report serious incidents, allegations, and sensitive program information to the Program Manager
  • Complete incident reports
  • Work with case management team to ensure all required service delivery is documented and to identify strengths and weaknesses in data entry and quality
  • Respond to immediate client needs, help de-escalate crisis situations, help resolve conflicts and enforce program rules
  • Conduct room inspections and locker inspections per program rules to ensure cleanliness
  • Conduct regular and random drug screenings per program rules and program contracts
  • Complete medication logs for clients and sign off on client medication logs, assist clients in keeping track of medication refills
  • Participate in program team meetings, staff meetings, supervision meetings as required and requested per contracts
  • Build and maintain quality working relationships with colleagues, external and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in program quality improvement activities that improve program policies, procedures and client and program outcomes
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of work experience, or

HS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of direct social services experience, or

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of direct social services experience 


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations and the related issues of addiction and mental illness strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with DC’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Knowledge of issues facing homeless or otherwise vulnerable populations
  • Values commensurate with a community committed to providing inclusive services without regard to race, religion, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
  • Experience with, or capacity to learn, data visualization techniques and software


Skills and Competencies Required

  • Strong cultural competence, including excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse population
  • Mature abilities in developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn a database system
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess crisis management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail oriented and analytical thinker
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

Schedules:

6p-12a; Tuesday-Saturday (Part time)

6p-12a; Sunday-Thursday (Part time)

12a- 8a; Tuesday- Saturday (Fulltime)

12a-8a; Sunday-Thursday (Fulltime)

6p-12a; 24 hours a week PRN  

12a-8a; 24 hours a week PRN   

 

N Street Village is required to comply with Mayor's Order 2021-099 - COVID-19 Vaccination Certification Requirement. This order requires employees to be fully vaccinated with limited exceptions.
